Lemme show you my baby's photos. There are two of them so far... :D

This is picture taken during first visit to gyne. It showed the size of the gestational sac. Fetus is still too small to be seen, though a white patch may be observed after some searching. The sac is 6.7mm at this time. Estimated no. of weeks: 6wks. Estimated Date Due (EDD): 14 Oct 2009 (which happened to be my ROM date!).

Now, the gestational sac has grown much bigger and fetus maybe observed (the white patch between the two crosses). Fetus measures at 8.5mm. Estimated no. of weeks: 7wks. EDD: 21 Oct 2009

I was watching this show on TV, called Johnny Cash. A singer songwritter guitarist, trying his very best to earn a living through his talent. His wife is pressuring him as he was getting no where, the landlord is demanding rent from them.

We went to a talent scout, sung his best together with his band but the talent scout didn't like it. He said, "I don't believe in you. We don't need to hear this kind of stuff on the radio. Just imagine, you got hit by a truck and you have 1 last breathe to sing a song, what would that be? We need that kind of songs, songs of life of passion, songs that can save people. " (this is what I can remember).

I've been getting real busy the past few weeks, to a point I have to work late into the night, getting phone calls while driving, calling people, working towards a goal and I'm asking myself, what I'm I working for?

Huiying reminded me that we are hear to build people up. Today, I gave a lift to my guitar teacher & he really appreciated me for that, I helped 1 of my friends to do some shooting today, he was very grateful.

We just got back from watching the WEDDING GAME starring Fann Wong & Christopher Lee. IT was fun! We managed to get into the GOLD class cinema and caught a glimpse of Fann, we played a game and won, the show was funny, it was awesome!

I had a tiring day of RSVP'ing with people today...

But somehow I enjoyed it :), calling people asking whether they are coming etc.

Had some major changes today, we have alot of guests coming for the Holy Matrimony, so much so that we have to change the venue to the creek.

No more roof top view but I believe it would be more comfortable as it won't be as hot as upstairs.

1) According to this website, all you need to go is to take a train to Tanah Merah MRT station and change to bus no. 2.

Wow, We just went to CVH to taste test the food. Well, it was good, hope they serve with the same level of culinary precision.

Man, I'm in a middle of so many things now... But I believe everything will be fine...

Just need to get organised and work hard! We had a fantastic performance yesterday, so I guess we should celebrate!!!

ahhh..... Today's the D day of our house... finally, the wait is going to be OVER!

We went through alot to get this house. Its like a miracle house. Its a gift. A BIG gift.

From God, our parents, our family members, relatives, friends.

Their finance, advice, opinions, hardwork, prayers really made a big difference.
e.g. the Bed, thanks to Chris from our cell group who because of them introducing us to TEMPUR, we found SEALY. Tell you something, I have never slept on a bed longer than my body! haha... We got a customized queen sized sealy bed. (this is just 1 of the many examples that i can quote)

I'm happy, really happy. I don't know how to express it. Maybe I should write a song?

I'm really really happy. Come to think about it, I'm joyful, thankful. We're blessed.

I also want to say this. I have a wonderful wife!

Never have I met someone who faithfully supports my dreams, be there and work together to achieve things together. She makes me feel like a millionaire sometimes, acting like my P.A. Our business is growing, our house is completing, our wedding is coming.

Yesterday was one of my Poly friend's wedding! Love is in the air... Everyone's getting married... Suddenly I feel so connect to the wheel of life, where we are all going in 1 motion and the regular things like getting married, getting houses, etc etc. are happening 1 by 1.

After the dinner, we went to our new house to check out the effect of the lightings in our house, and we were pleasantly surprised!

I was settling some renovation issues...

My contracter are a bunch of very good people. They have serve us well!

But my air con is not done by them as I had to use another company as someone else asked us to use.

Turn out, these guys did not advice me well and because of that, i had to make alot of changes...

Nevertheless that's not why I'm writing this.

I writing this as I realized I must not get angry or else I'll lose my strength. For joy is my strength.

I'm weak when I'm angry.

Throughout this time, I guess I looked at the lighter side of things while talking to this air con person, and we did not quarrel and stuff. Losing temper only destroys relationships.

Well, its been a long time since we last wrote on this blog!

I was just thinking about our wedding booklet, what should we put in it?
What can I write to let it be a best selling, 4 million copies sold round the world kind of book?

A walk to remember

I think the chapters of the book would be something like this:-

3. The beginning of an adventure

5. Sailing through the storms
6. Vacation is good.
7. Back to the mundane life.

9. The marriage

After which, we would add helpful tips like.

We've finally settled with a bridal boutique shop!

Chim culture at Orchard Plaza.
We like their designs and we feel that we can work with Chim.

1 tip to get gowns. You might want to ask your siblings or friends who had bought gowns to see if they would sell you / give you their gowns. If you can fit into their gown, you can get a designer to touch up and add some new laces / beading to make it look fresh and even more stylish!

Also, you might want to think of using shawls or scarfs if you want to spice up your evening gown attire.

Now to finalise our make up artist and our wedding booklet + door gift!

Pocket full of Posies! B2-42 Vivo City

Well, me and Huiying were just thinking of chilling out together as it was a long time since we had spent quality time together. We decided to do some window shopping at vivo city!

It was fun, walking around, commenting on people, clothes, shops... There was this particular shop that we kept bumping into. It had a weird name, and both me and Huiying had difficulty pronouncing it. We also came across this really cute baby, my gosh! Cute!

So to conclude our "quality time" we went to this place called Pocket Full of Posies (interesting name for a cafe) it had many flowers all around, and they call themselves the green house cafe! The food was good, the desert, was power (but too bad we finished it even before videoing it). It was a brownie, a huge brownie, chocolate to the maximum i tell you! If you ever go there, please ask them to heat up 1 for you! good stuff!

With that aside, I really think filling up each others' "Love Tank" is very important. I still remember the other time when I wasn't sensitive and didn't fill up her "love tank", it was alot of quarrels after quarrels.

"Love Tank" could equate to ways of loving your wife, giving her gifts, spending quality time with her, serve her by driving her around, giving her hugs or just saying "you're the best, I love you!".

Maybe I guess most importantly for a girl is to know that she's the most important girl in her husband's life.

Ahh, anyway, we're finalising our door gifts, thinking of ideas for our renovation, almost chose a bridal boutique!

Finally, we got a place to call our own...

Recently been going through alot of rough patches, people don't really understand what we are doing and questioning us. We on the other hand are too busy and occupied on what is going on that we don't really give a good answer.

Which results in alot of frustration. Anyway, many good things are happening in our life right now, things are falling into place, finally after such a long time of struggles.

We've been crying out to God for a breakthrough in our marriage, finance and our lives and things are finally looking brighter. I guess marriage prep isn't as easy as 1 2 3.
Especially when you're working, studying at the same time.

Anyways, we hope to communicate better with everyone... till the next time.

We just got the keys to our new house. Actually the house is not exactly new. But its our FIRST home... So just call it "new"...

Its at Blk 121 Potong Pasir Ave 1 #11-279 Singapore 350121.

We'll probably put up some photos soon. Then all of you can see the "before and After" appearance of the house.

I won't say that i'm not excited. Its just that there are some other things which may cause barriers to the next step after getting the house.

I really think that even if the in-built cabinets are still in good condition and is just enough for use for two people, the house should be renovated at least to something that is pleasing to my eyes. After all, I'm the one staying in the house (other than KM). The cabinets and sinks etc., that are still in pretty good condition, are not exactly pleasing to my eyes. They look just like anybody else's house. It's not me at all. It's "other people". (If you get what I mean.)

Anyway, I'm just going to go ahead and renovate the place the way I like it no matter what objections there may be.

And to all my friends who's reading this:

We have confirmed out wedding venue! Changi Village Hotel

We've also almost confirmed our photographers and videographers. We're doing something that normally couples might not do!

We're still looking out for our bridal boutique, hopefully we can finalise 1 by next week.

For our rings... We need to think about our design. I am working in a jewellery company called Far East Gems and Jewellery. We do customized rings, earrings, necklaces, bangles and many more. We also deal in stones like rubies, sapphires, tourmalines, etc.

For our door gifts, expect a suprise!

Anyway, I hope we get everything done early, so we don't have to rush...

Very intelligent concept. Theres this part of the house where there was a glass wall facing the TV area. They later explain that that room would be the Nursery and the glass wall would make taking care of their future baby easier.

Talk about a custom designed house!

Another thing special about their house was their lighting. They had chandelier on top of their dining table. They also had a custom made dining table which had a really cool glass table top! One of those with designs.

Its such a good feeling to own your own house. I don't know how express it, but its really a great feeling.

These few days, alot has been going through my head. Some people say, marriage is just a paper. I really think they missed the point.

To me, marriage is really like a whole new kind of life. Where a man really grows up to become a husband, a father figure. A time of promotion!

I always looked up to my father, Mr Tay Thye Sun. He a great man, great husband, great father. Now its my turn, seems like a really BIG responsibility.

My father is humorous man. Rather, he is a man of great courage, strength, integrity, creativity, love, wisdom, character, brains, you name it, he has it.

And to think, marriage has started me on this journey of becoming a man like that. I have a lot to learn.

Huiying has been a great help these few weeks as I constantly try to study hard / work hard. Many times her words of wisdom really helped me to pull myself through and to continue to move on.

I guess if you look at marriage from only a man's point of view its going to be unbalanced and impossible.

Putting a woman in the picture kind of balances things out. E.g. When I'm overwhelmed by circumstances and feel all hope is lost, Huiying would come and give me a strong and good kick in the butt *figuratively* and I would be "Oh, why was I acting like that? This sounds doable!"

Sometimes she needs my guts. Sometimes I need her love. Sometimes she needs my smile. Sometimes we need each other.

We've been doing the budget together, its been great.

Ok, now to write down the details of what actually happened last week.

Monday.
We went to HDB for our first appointment of our flat. For those of you who are going to get a flat from HDB, get prepared to bring (please don't quote me, just what I had to bring)

1. Marriage Cert
2. NRIC (both parties)
3. Your HLE letter
4. Both parties birth certs
5. Both your parents have to be around
6. Parent's marriage cert
7. Have a joint account in case your monthly CPF contribution is not enough for the installments

Tuesday
We met up with a wedding planner, apparently she's one of the local actresses. Anyway it was a fun meet up, get to know what she did and also share about what we do. She showed us one of the weddings she did, it was pretty good! They even customized the plates, cutlery, decor the table etc. Very nice work.

Thursday
We met up with a photographer and videographer. Their work is pretty good, we appreciate the value of their services. But its quite alot, looks worth it.
Anyway, we personally don't like those wedding packages that bridal studios offer. They give you a certain number of photos, you would have to pay extra for any addition. But this guy, he would give you all the photos he shot on the day, which is quite good.

What an eventful week. We just went through alot of meetings, we met HDB, or wedding planner and our videographer / photographer.

Things are starting to fall into place. Finaly :). *sigh of relief*.

Wedding Planners Anyone?

Well, me and Huiying have been toying with the thought of having a wedding planner. I really wonder if its really worth money. I believe so, because somebody else would be responsible for making all the necessary arrangements.

Anyway, I've been front selling our wedding program, and today I shall highlight 1 of them.

The Best Love story contest. We are calling all our friends to come prepared to tell their love story! For both couples and singles! The best (maybe best 3) would receive some prizes.

We thought that why not let there be an atmosphere of love around, and also for everyone to exchange love ideas and ways to express love through a simple and fun contest...

Anyway, back to wedding planners, I dropped an email to 1 wedding planner and got a pleasant surprise!

Changi Village Hotel Confirmed!

Well, they just confirmed and drafted out the contract for us.

For all people who are going to get married, hotels draft out contracts for you with regards to the wedding dinner(bookings, food, drinks, freebies). I wish I can get a lawyer to look at it for me. ha!

It looks simple though. Hmmm...

Anyway I think next week we would and look around for gowns and stuff, got to finalise a date with Huiying.

I guess, its time to get creative with my finances.

Now we're thinking of engaging a wedding planner, to help us iron out our plans to make this wedding a memorable, fun and good one.

By Chance...

Yeah... It was all by chance.

We were walking along the aisle of the first floor in Delfi (Orchard). Lo and behold, we stepped into this shop with some wedding gowns.

The lady (whom we found out was the boss), looked up and smiled.

Kun: Hi, do you do wedding gowns etc?
(Actually I was thinking that it was a FUNNY question to ask.)

Lady: Yes. All the gowns displayed are WEDDING GOWNS.
(Haha... The gowns were actually right in front of us. Pretty obviously wedding gowns.)

Kun: Oh, I see.

Lady: Feel free to look around.

Both of us: Thank you.

After some time of looking around (there weren't many gowns to look at in the first place), the lady came to talk to us. She showed us some pretty gowns as well as night gowns (apparently specially designed and wore by celebrities in Singapore).

Well, I must say that some of the wedding gowns were really beautifully designed. The laces and beads and crystals were all intricately sewn on.

Then she continued to tell us what they do.

It was a very interesting encounter as her concept of wedding gowns and plans and packages etc., are very similar to our own business concept.

And for the both of us, that's what we liked.

By now, you must have guessed that their prices must be really high. YOU ARE RIGHT! But if you have the money, I'm sure their services are worth the price.

For the time being, I'll not reveal which shop this is. I'll reveal it when we have confirmed their service.

The keyboard is as powerful as the pen

In the old days, letters and memos are drafted using pens.
Presently, most of them are drafted using keyboards.
New ways of doing things, new ideas...

Doing alot of emailing and aliasing with photographers and the hotel.

4. Think of my wedding bands.
5. Think of a theme and style for my house renovation

But its good :)
